The Padillas have been a very special connection. Martha found me online and we formed a great connection just on our phone consult. We also planned time to Skype so that I could meet her girls before the session to build a little comfort. And we used their own home and backyard as the setting for their family portraits. I love when families chose to have their photos at their home – it’s a place of comfort, loving memories, and it always shows in the pictures.
Alfred, the father of their family, has an incredible flower garden – his passion. I recall driving by their home in the past, before we recently met, and being in complete awe. The family’s portrait session was planned for the perfect time in Spring when tulips are at their prime… but we got rained out… and then again… and maybe even for a third time – it’s hard to keep count! But we all decided to go for it, flowers or not! I picked peonies from my own yard for the girls. I think it turned out perfect – their home photographed beautifully and it was a gorgeous day to enjoy the yard.
Alfred painted a vision for me of all his flowers, and what was next to bloom. Now that I have been to their home and learned of the landscape, I cannot wait to see the next wave of blossoms in their front yard. And after their photos were complete, we all sat down to a delicious home made dinner of pizza, which Alfred had made, and cake made from scratch by Christina, their eldest daughter (WOW THANK YOU GUYS!!!). I’m a little bit of a foodie, and this family knows how to cook!! What a treat to have worked with them and then enjoy a delicious meal and dessert. Enjoy a few portraits from their family session:
