Hi there! My name is Kelly Heck, and I am a B2B Photographer located in Central Maryland, offering headshots, commercial & editorial portraiture, and branding photography.

I am formally trained in traditional photography (i.e. lots of time shooting film and printmaking in the darkroom) at Savannah College of Art & Design in Savannah, GA and thankful to be an award-winning photographer. Check out some of my personal work!

Freelancing since 2004, I left my full time job in Spring of 2015 to focus 100% of my time on building my photography business.

A LITTLE ABOUT MY LIFE

THE PEOPLE WHO BRING ME JOY EVERY DAY

I find myself working all the time - because it does not feel like "work". But my hubby Adam (who proposed in October of 2018 and I married in September 2020) is my reminder to slow down, take breaks, and enjoy more in life. He is an awesome videographer, editor, and motion designer... not to mention an incredible chef.

I'm a daughter to a woodturner / beekeeper and a gardener / floral arranger / bonsai artist. I'm a sister to a goldsmith jeweler. I am an Auntie to two beautiful little girls who like to pretend to be monsters, build block towers, and eat "snail snacks" (pie-crust pinwheels with cinnamon sugar). I am a granddaughter to the most talented woodworker I know, a potter and chef, and basically a granddaughter to my great-aunt, who is an incredible seamstress. And... I am a new Mama to as of March 2022 to a little boy who is sweet, clever, funny, and cute-to-boot! A great wealth of talent, passion, and love runs through my family and I could not be luckier.

WHAT SPARKS JOY IN MY EVERY DAY

While I have many interests and obviously love photography, my most time consuming interest is cooking from scratch! I love intense flavor and both my hubby and I are quite happy in the kitchen. If you haven't heard the news though, my new hobby is tending to a little mini-me! (This Mamahood thing has me in a "work when I can" mode of life, because he comes first.)

Cinnamon Buns, Focaccia, Rice Krispie Treats, Lemon Meringue Pie, Coconut Cream Pie, Adam's Sweet Tomato Basil Soup, No-Bake Cookies, Gourmet Grilled Cheese, Homemade Pizza , Vanilla Scones with Jam & Whipped Cream, BBQ Shrimp on Lime Avocado Toast, Baked Ham Sandwiches, Tuscan White Bean & Sausage Soup, Pecan Bars, Fresh Squeezed Lemonade (with Maple Syrup or Honey), Sausage & Shrimp Jambalaya, Chicken & Ham Pot Pie, home-canned salsa from my veggie garden, just about every recipe I try from Once Upon A Chef, and a WHOLE LOT MORE.
